Beautiful Vintage Specimen Slides | Full Specimen Slides How to and Decorating


Thank you so much for joining me for this Six Beautiful Vintage Specimen Slides tutorial, Let's jump right in.


I cut out six of the specimen slides from the Tim Holtz Specimen's die set from some vintage cardstock in my stash, I used another die from that same stamp set to cut out a piece of acetate to act as a window in my specimen slide. I used some Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and a blending foam to add a vintage touch around all the edges of the slides.Before Sealing up the slide I added some dried flowers, some acetate dragon flies and some beautiful star embellishments to each one them sealed up the slide with the acetate already adhered.


Once that was done the sky is the limit to how you want to decorate them, I used a lot of Rub ons from both Tim Holtz and Prima Marketing. I love how they contrasted with each other as ones black and the other is vibrant colours. Rub ons will sit on top of anything you add so they really morph into the background and look as if they belong. For some final touches I used my Crop-a-dial and a warm metallic Eyelet on each slide and added a safety pin for a fun hanging element. Then I added some small tags and heart adornments hanging off the safety pin for some fun elements and called these slides done.
