Christmas Advent Calendar Matchboxes | Tim Holtz Matchbox Bigz Dies

Hello everyone and thank you so much for stopping by to see these wonderful advent calendar matchboxes I made for my husband. I am so excited with how they turned out so let's jump in.

I am not going to try to explain how I built the boxes as I am not sure I could explain it very well, but I do show the making of the boxes step by step in my video so if you want to see that step please check out the video below. Once my boxes were built I used a craft pick to make a hole for my fastner to go into making the drawer of the box easier to pull open. I trimmed down some Belle countryside patten paper to decorate each side you can see of the boxes, I also brought in a bit of Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink and blended it on each edge of the paper to make it look a big more vintage. After adhereing the paper to each side I made the same hole in the drawer so the fastner would fit.

I then cut out the smallest star from the Tim Holtz Christmas Vault series from some gold metallic cardstock twice and the larger star from some Champagne glitter cardstock. I used the same glitter cardstock to cut out the number and the scalloped edge around the piece that sits under the number, those dies came with the matchbox dies. I used a piece of cream cardstock to go in the corner where the number sits and blended a little Vintage Photo around the edges for that same vintage feel. All that was left was to adhere all my elements on the Matchboxes, I adheded the scalloped edge and cream circle to the bottom left corner and added the number on top once I trimmer the access off. For the two metallic stars I used liquid glue to adhere them but for the glitter star I needed some very thin scar-tape as the glitter didn't want to adhere easily.

I LOVE how these came together and I hope you enjoyed them as well, If you want a more in-depth look at how I made these doxes or decorated them please check out the video below. I also have a full supplies list below the video in case you want to know exactly what I used. Thank you so much for stopping by and I cannot wait to see you again soon!!
