Christmas Advent Calendar Matchboxes | Tim Holtz Matchbox Bigz Dies Week 2


Hello and thank you so much for stopping by to check out my Advent Calendar Matchboxes, I am in love with how these ones turned out and I cannot wait to share them with you. Let's jump right in!!


I won't walk you through how I made the Boxes as I did that with last weeks post which you can check out here, I am only going to focus on how I decorated this set of boxes. I really wanted to focus on a white and gold design because I always love how elegant those colours look together. I started by creating the backround of this design, I used the Simon Says Stamp You Are background stamp and stamped it out in Delicata Golden Glitz ink on some Neenah Solar white cardstock. I trimmed them down to fit on all the sides and edged it with the same Golden Glitz ink or make the edges look finished. I then cut out the snowflake from some white glitter cardstock and used the Tim Holtz Snowflake 3D impresslet and added a large gem to the centre.


For the numbers and the inside of the boxes I used some Gold Matte Mirror cardstock and the dies that come with the sidekick, any number dies would work for this I just really wanted to use a different set that I used on the first boxes. As for the piece that went on the inside I trimmed it to be the full front and then kept trimming thin pieces off until it fit, every box was a bit different as it depended on how the walls folded in. I also drilled a little hole in the front of the box so I could add the hitch fastner so the drawer was easier to open. Now all that was left is to adhere the layers onto the matchboxes, I wanted the snowflake to over lap my number a bit so I adhered the number first to the bottom right side and adhered the snowflake to the top left corner overlapping the side of the box and a bit over the number. I LOVE how these turned out and canoot wait to hear what you think?!
