Distress Mica Stain Bee Artist Trading Cards | Simon Says Stamp Bee Yourself Stamp Set

Hello everyone, thank you so much for stopping by!! I have these Distress Mica Stain Bee Artist Trading Cards to share with you today, So let's jump right in!!


I like to use a piece of watercolour card stock that's 5x7 when I make my ATC's so that I can cut it into 4 cards. The only rule that I know of for making ATC's is that they need to be 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size. I brought out my splat box and four sprays two Distress Oxide Sprays in Squeezed Lemonade and Hickory Smoke and two of the new Tim Holtz Mica Stains in Flickering Candle and Empty Tomb and OH MAN are they stunning!!


I set that aside to dry and stamped out my bee images from Simon Says Stamp Bee Yourself stamp set in a Copic safe ink, on Copic safe paper, and coloured them in with my Copic markers. I used N1, N3, and N5 for the dark stripes on the bee and Y06, Y08, Y19 for the yellow stripes on the bees. I love a white highlight so I brought in my favourite white gelly roll pen and added highlights where I thought they would look good.


I then wanted to add more texture to the background so I brought in a Hexagon Die and Stencil and some texture paste to add some more dimension, I also flicked on some of the sprays to each background for some added interest. I fussy cut out my bees and adhered them down with thin 3D foam squares just so they would stand out more. I couldn't resist adding those beautiful Vintage shimmer pearls by Studio Katia and adhered 3 on each card in varying sizes. I would love to know what you think of how these ATC's turned out!!
