How to Create a Whimsical 5x7 Card with Alcohol Ink with a Black Floral Trim


Thank you so much for joining me for this How to Create a Whimsical 5x7 Card with Alcohol Ink with a Black Floral Trim, Let's jump right in.


I started this card by creating a black 5x7 base and cutting down a piece of Yupo to be 1/8 of an inch smaller than the base, I also cut a white piece of cardstock to the same size as the Yupo to go on the inside of the black base. Next, I used three colours of Alcohol ink to create the alcohol ink background and splattered on some isopropyl alcohol to create a splattered texture. I then stamped a floral trim on vellum in black ink and clear heat embossed it, then fussy cut out the image so I could use it as a focal image without covering a bunch of the alcohol inked panel.


Next, I cut the banner out and white heat embossed a sentiment on it then folded it with two z folds to have create the banner shape. For some added interest I also cut out 7 small butterflies from black glitter cardstock and added them across the floral image. I had no real plan for this card when I sat down but I really like how it came together!! I hope you will give it a try.
