How to Create a Winter Wonderland with Alcohol Ink and Snowflakes: Christmas Slimline Card Tutorial


Thank you so much for joining me for this How to Create a Winter Wonderland with Alcohol Ink and Snowflakes: Christmas Slimline Card Tutorial, Let's jump right in.


I started this card by creating my slimline base, I like mine to be 7 x 8.5 inches and scored at 3.5 inches giving me a 3.5 x 8.5-inch base. Next, I used the slim lacy layers dies to cut a scalloped layer out of HammerMill cardstock and the next smaller layer out of Yupo as this is my favourite cardstock to use alcohol inks on.


I used two colours of Alcohol ink Pearls in Villainous and Celestial on the Yupo panel with the help of a blending solution I worked between the two colours until I was happy with the blend and while it was still tacky I added some Iridescent foil for added interest. For a focal on top of the Alcohol Ink, I cut out some snowflakes from Vellum and layered them up for added dimension. For the sentiment I used silver heat embossing and die-cut it out so I could add it to the centre of the card panel.


I used a mix of Liquid glue and foam tape to adhere the layers that went into this card and then for a final touch I added some clear jewels to the center of each snowflake and added one inside the card base. I love how this card turned out and honestly, the pictures do not do it justice at all.
