Mixed Media Be Brave Galaxy Card | Uncharted Mariner Distress Spray Stain


Thank you so much for joining me for this Mixed Media Be Brave Galaxy Card, Let's jump right in.


I started with a piece of watercolour card stock and three ink sprays in Uncharted Mariner, Salvaged Patina and Hocus Pocus. I worked between the three colours and some clean clear water, drying between each layer until I was happy with the outcome. I brought in the Linked Squares stencil and some Transparent Grit paste and added it to three random areas on the background and set the panel aside to dry.


Next I white heat-embossed one of the butterfly stamps from the Botanical Collage stamp set onto a piece of heavy-weight vellum and tore the edges around it to give it a neat border. Once my background was dry I used a deckled edge trimmer on it and a black matte for some added texture around the panels. I also brought in some archival ink and did some random stamping on the background for added interest.


I used a Tiny Attacher to attach my vellum piece to the background and brought in a sentiment label sticker and added it beside my vellum piece. I adhered the layers with liquid glue, I prefer liquid glue as it gives me a bit of wiggle room to align my panels the way I like them. Once everything was attached I brought in my white gel pen and added some random details to the panel. To finish off my card I used some Silver Metallic pearls and scattered them across the background from the top left to the bottom right.
