Rainbow and Sparkle 5 x 7 Butterfly Card | Tim Holtz Perspective Butterfly Die


Hello Everyone, thank you so much for stopping by to check out my Rainbow Butterfly Sparkle Butterfly card. Let's jump right into the making of this card.


As always I started with creating my base which for this card is 5x7 inches, my watercolour card stock is also cut to 5x7 inches so it will be the full front on this card base. I used my splat box to try and contain the splatter from creating my rainbow my panel, for the rainbow I chose 6 different Distress Oxide Sprays is Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon and Seedless Preserves. Working between the colours and adding water until I am happy with how it turned out and set that panel aside to dry.


I used a black cardstock and cut out Perspective Butterfly and created my own Black Glitter with glossy accents to create the shiny stunning Butterfly as my focal. I also cut the Perspective Butterfly out of Pearlescent Vellum to add a second layer to my butterfly. Once my panel was dry I adhered my two layers of butterlfies down with some Bearly Art glue leaving the wings free to move. I also used a Tim Holtz Sentiment Label stickers for my sentiment and adhered it down beside the Butterflies. I then added a white dash line around the outside of the panel for some added texture and I also brought in some Pearls to the center of the butterflies body.
