"Step-by-Step: How to Create a Whimsical Butterfly Birthday A2 Card"


Thank you so much for joining me for this "Step-by-Step: How to Create a Whimsical Butterfly Birthday A2 Card", Let's jump right in.


I like to start by cutting down my cardstock, I used an A2-sized base then cut the black mattes down to be 1/8th of an inch smaller and my HammerMill cardstock panel down to be 1/4 of an inch smaller than the base. Next, I stamped and gold-embossed the concentric doodle stamp on the Hammermill panel.


After Heat embossing the panel I used three Distress Oxide inks to blend a beautiful background, the colours I used were Scattered Straw, Saltwater Taffy and Seedless Preserves, blending between them until I was happy with how they looked. I then splattered on perfect pearl powder to add shimmer and shine to the background.


For the sentiment, I used the Large Fancy Happy Birthday die and cut it out four times layering them up to give the sentiment more weight. All that's left is to adhere the layers and add on the beautiful vellum butterflies across the panel. I love how this card came together and wow do the pictures not do the card justice.
