Stunning Alcohol Inked Butterflies Slimline Card Tutorial

Thank you for joining me for this Stunning Alcohol Inked Butterflies Slimline Card Tutorial. Let's jump right in.

I started by creating the base of my slimline card, the easiest way I have found to do this is to cut 4 inches off a standard-size piece of cardstock 8.5 inches by 11 inches, leaving me with a base of 8.5 inches by 7 inches then scored at 3.5 inches. Leaving me a slimline base that measures 8.5 inches by 3.5 inches when scored. Then I ran some hammer mill cardstock through my die-cutting matching with the Slim lacy layers dies to create a pretty background for my butterflies.

I cut the base of the butterflies out of Yupo paper so I could use my Alcohol inks easily on top of them and cut the detail layer out of some vellum so you can easily see the vibrant colours. For the bodies of the butterflies, I used six Alcohol inks in Raspberry, Splendor, Sunshine Yellow, Citrus, Tranquil and Villainous, blending between the colours and blending solution. Once the ink was fully dry I adhered the detail layer only on the body and added some gems to hide the glue on the body.

Now all we have left is to adhere the layers and add the butterflies in a line, for the sentiment I trimmed down a sentiment strip and used thin foam squares behind it to add a little more dimension to a simple but beautiful design. I Love how this card came together!!
