Stunning and Simple Mica Sprayed Butterfly Mini Slimline Card Tutorial

Thank you for joining me for this Stunning Mica Sprayed Butterfly Mini Slimline Card Tutorial. Let's jump right in.

I started by creating the base, I cut a piece of cardstock to 6x6 inches and scored at the 3-inch mark creating my 6x3-inch mini slimline base. Next, I trimmed down a black matte to be about a 1/8 of an inch smaller than my base and a Hammermill panel to be about 1/4 of an inch smaller than my base... I tend to just eyeball my layers so those may not be the exact measurements.

Next, I used four colours of Mica Stain to later die-cut into my butterflies bases, I used Cocktail Party, Harvest Moon, Shiny Bauble and Merry Mint working between the colours and water until I was happy. Once the panel was dry I cut out the base of my four butterflies and cut the detail layer from the same black cardstock I used for the matte. Then I adhered just the bodies of the two layers of butterflies together to allow the wings some movement.

For some added texture I ran my Hammermill panel through with a 3D embossing folder then started to adhere my butterflies and sentiment to the panel. Once everything adhered to the card I added a few white pearls for a little extra shimmer and shine and called this card done.
