Stunning Red and White Poinsettia Lantern Christmas Card Tutorial | Christmas in July Series
Thank you so much for joining me for this Stunning Red and White Poinsettia Lantern Christmas Card Tutorial, Let's jump right in.
I started by trimming down a piece of dark red cardstock to be about 1/4 of an inch smaller than my A2 base and blended on some Aged Mahogany and Black Soot Distress ink to the edge to add drama to my card panel. Next, I ran the Dark red panel through my Big Shot with a snowflake 3D embossing folder to add texture to the background.
For my focal image, I cut out the lantern and layered up all the layers and added some acetate to create a glass-like window into the lantern. For the candle, I used three Copic markers to add some colour in Y13, Y17 and YR16 blending between them until I was happy with how it looked. To add some more interest to the card I used a poinsettia die and cut out three of the flower and adhered them on top of the lantern.
For my sentiment, I stamped it out in the same Aged Mahogany Distress ink and trimmed it down until a label. For some added shimmer and shine I added a jewel to the centre of each poinsettia and called this card finished. I LOVE how this card turned out!!
