Super Adorable Turtle Artist Trading Cards | Distress Ink VS Distress Oxide Background

Hello everyone and thank you for joining me for these super adorable Artist Trading Cards, Where I am going to make backgrounds from both Distress Oxide ink and Distress Ink to see which one I like better, Let's jump right in.

To start I have two pieces of cold press watercolour cardstock cut down to 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches, which is the standard size to an Artist Trading Card, that is the only rule that I know of when making Artist Trading Cards. I have never used Distress inks to make a background although I own them all so I really wanted to test the same colours from Distress Ink and Distress Oxide to see which I ended up liking better. I smooched Tumbled glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire right onto the background and misted it with water to get the colours to move, I did the same thing on the other card just with Inks instead of Oxides.

I added two layers of colour on each and let them dry in between. I then stamped out this adorable turtle image from Brutus Monroe in a Copic safe ink on Copic friendly paper and used V04, YR16, YR09, G12, G16, G19, G02, YR21, YR12 and Y38, If you would like to see how I Copic coloured the images please check out the video down below. I fussy cut out the images and adhered them to the background with foam squares. I also added some perfect pearls to the background for a bit of extra shimmer and shine.

I finished off the cards with a few bubbles cascading up to the right side of the card, I would love to know which one you think turned out better?? The Distress inks are on the left side and Distress Oxides are on the right side. I would love to know what you think. If you want to see a more in-depth look at how these Artist Trading Cards were made please check out my video below, I also have a full supplies list below the video if you want to know exactly what I used.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I cannot wait until I see you again !!
