Whimsical Non-Traditional Christmas Cards | 12 Weeks of Christmas Week 7


Hello everyone and thank you for joining me, today I have a Whimsical Non-Traditional Christmas Card to share with you so let's jump right in.


As always I like to have my cardstock cut down, I have an A2 sized base, the black matte is 1/8th of an inch smaller than the base and the panel is 1/8th of an inch smaller than the black matte. I used pixie spray on the back of Simon Says Stamp Radiant Hearts Stencil to hold it in place, then blended on 3 Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass, Speckled Egg, and Broken China on one base and 4 Distress Oxide Inks in Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon. I then added Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel on top of the hearts through the stencil. Then set the panel's aside to dry.


I stamped out two of these cute elf images, sadly this stamp set is no longer being made but you could replace them with any image you like and it would still make a super cute card. I used my Mini Misti and a Copic friendly ink and stamped the image out twice. For the more Christmas colour palette, I used E57, E27, E50, E21, R22, E79, E49, Y08, Y19, G14, G05, R14, R05, N3, and N5. For the more neutral colour palette, I used C0, C1, N3, N5, BG15, V15, RV02, YG11. I used the matching die to cut out the Elf images and covered the back in thin 3D foam squares to add some dimension to this card. I then heat embossed my sentiment on black cardstock with Alabaster White embossing powder and heat set it until it was smooth and melted. Trimmed the sentiments to be label strips that will help ground my elf images. I adhered down all my layers and brought in a white gel pen to add some
