Whimsical Rainbow Teapot and Cups Slimline Card Tutorial

Thank you for joining me for this Stunning Whimsical Rainbow Teapot and Cups Slimline Card Tutorial. Let's jump right in.

I started by creating the base of my slimline card, the easiest way I have found to do this is to cut 4 inches off a standard-size piece of cardstock 8.5 inches by 11 inches, leaving me with a base of 8.5 inches by 7 inches then scored at 3.5 inches. Leaving me a slimline base that measures 8.5 inches by 3.5 inches when scored. Then I ran some hammer mill cardstock through my die-cutting matching with the Slim Stitched essential dies to create a pretty background for my Teapot and cups. I also ran the smallest panel through with a 3D embossing folder for added texture and interest.

I then used the Teapot and cups die to cut out the Pot, five cups, and saucers in a rainbow array of colours. The Cardstocks I used were all from Simon Says stamp in Cotton Candy, Lemon Chiffon, Mint, Surf Blue, Lavender and Fog. For added interest, I also blended all the die-cut pieces with Oxide ink in Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Evergreen Bough, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet and Hickory Smoke. Keeping the shading mostly to the lower right corner, I also brought in a white gel pen to add some subtle highlights to the top left side.

All that was left was to come up with a fun layout, I adhered some of the cups flat and others I popped up with this 3D foam tape for added dimension. I also used a little clear sparkle pen on the inside of the cups, brought in some pearls for extra shimmer and shine and finished off the card with a sentiment strip. I am pretty happy with how this card came together!!
