Creating a Playful and Vibrant A2 Card with Whimsical Ink Smooching Techniques


Thank you so much for joining me for this Creating a Playful and Vibrant A2 Card with Whimsical Ink Smooching Techniques, Let's jump right in.


I like to start my cards by cutting down the cardstock so I can see what I am working with. I cut my watercolour cardstock down to be about 1/4 of an inch smaller than the A2 base, and I cut my black matte to be 1/8th of an inch smaller than the A2 base, creating thin borders on each layer.


To create the ink smooched background I used three colours of Oxide ink in Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Peacock feathers. I worked between wet on wet layers (to blend) and wet on dry layers (to layer) and heat set every time I was happy with how a layer looked.


Next, I die-cut the wild field die out of black cardstock and black glitter cardstock and adhered the black layer behind and slightly to the left of the glitter layer creating a really fun shadow. For the sentiment, I stamped Many thanks in black ink and used a white gel pen to help it stand up against the background. All that's left now is to adhere the layers and add some pearls around the sentiment. I LOVE how this card turned out and think the contrast between the vibrant background and the black silhouette images looks stunning.
