Distress Oxide Spray Mother's Day Mini Slimline Card


Hello everyone and thank you so much for stopping by to check out my Distress Oxide Spray Mother's Day mini slimline card, Let's jump right in.


To start I always like to cut down my cardstock, for my Mini slimline cards I like to have them be 3 inches by 6 inches. I cut my base to 6 by 6 inches and score at the 3 inch mark.I also trimmed down my black shimmery matte and a panel that will turn into the card front. Both will be 1/8th of an inch smaller that the next layer.


Using the Layering Rays stencil and my splat box I sprayed three Distress Oxide Sprays in Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Carved Pumpkin. Sprays can be a lot of fun and a quick way to make a background, I also used some Perfect Pearls and splashed them on the background for some added shimmer and shine. I then stamped out the trunk and owl image on Copic safe paper and ink from Lawn Fawn's Mom and Me stamp set. I used N0, N2 and N4 just to add some shading and depth to the owls. I used the matching dies to cut out my images and adhered the owl's to the stump so it looks like they are standing on top.


I then adhered the layers together with some Nuvo Deluxe glue, and stamped a sentiment and another owl image in the inside of the card base. I also stamped my Mother's Day sentiment on my coloured panel after it was dry. As always I needed to add some extra bling so I added a few Simon Says Stamp Moonshine sequins.
