How to Create a Vibrant Fall Sketchy Leaves 5x7 Card: A Step-by-Step Tutorial

I stared by creating my 5 x 7 base, I cut a piece of cardstock down to 10 x 7 inches then scored it at the 5 inch mark. I also trimmed down a piece of Hammermill cardstock with my deckled edge trimmer to add some interest to the panel. I then used five colours of Oxide ink in Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans, Pine Needles, Fossilized Amber and Ripe Persimmons, I blended them on the panel in no particular order until I was happy with how they looked.


Next, I heat set the panel then white heat embossed the leaves from the Sketchy Leaves stamp set, trying to have them each face a different direction. To help the leaves stand out from the background I used a N6 Copic marker to create a border around the leaves. I also splashed on some perfect pearls on the background for some added shimmer and shine. For the sentiment I stamped it on a circle die-cut in Seedless preserves and went around the edge in seedless preserves embossing glaze to help it stand out from the background.


For a final touch I added some white thread under the sentiment and some pearls around the card design to help fill in some of the empty space. I love how this fall card turned out and hope you also enjoyed seeing it come together.
